About Uday:

Uday is a design strategist and consultant with 20+ years of experience leading teams from confusion to clarity. He’s worked across enterprise and startup firms including Oracle, Adobe, Citrix, PayPal, and Automation Anywhere. His work focuses on the hard middle: unclear strategy, misaligned teams, fuzzy customer signals, and stalled execution. Through workshops, hands-on design, and design operations, he helps teams align, decide, and ship with confidence–and clarity. Trained in industrial design (Michigan) and interaction design (Carnegie Mellon), Uday treats design as a cultural outcome—designing not just products, but the conditions for better decisions that serve humans. He’s been extending this recently with AI, having organized the first Rosenfeld Media event on “Designing with AI”, presented a model of AI craft at the AI Experience Salon, and published a GenAI primer for designers.

Experience Highlights

Uday has successfully led and influenced design in complex, high-stakes contexts, including Aurora Solar, Automation Anywhere, and PayPal.

  • At Aurora Solar, he led a cross-team redesign of the AI-enhanced solar sales product to help sales reps close homeowner deals with ease and intelligence.

  • At Automation Anywhere, he defined UX workflows for building intelligent bots, while prototyping scenarios involving “digital workers”, a precursor to today’s agentic workflows

  • At PayPal, he modernized mobile payment flows that balanced speed, trust, and security at global scale.
